Job summary

A Bright Future, Inc provides care for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Santa Monica and surrounding areas. We seek Community Living Instructors to empower participants through hands-on instruction and personalized support.

You will teach essential independent living skills, support daily routines, promote health and safety, and help build confidence and meaningful community connections through in-home and community-based activities.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Drug Screening
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
• Negative TB test
• Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment)
• Genuine passion for caregiving and supporting individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, one-on-one support to individuals in their homes and community settings.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills (hygiene, meals, housekeeping, time management).
• Support participants in developing social, communication, and self-advocacy skills.
• Assist with community activities (shopping, appointments, errands, transportation training).
• Monitor safety, follow support plans, and document progress (notes, incidents, updates).
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, teams, and families; uphold confidentiality and policies.
