Job summary
A Bright Future, Inc. is seeking a Community Living Instructor (Caregiver) to support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities in East LA and surrounding areas.
The role focuses on teaching essential independent living skills, daily routines, and promoting health, safety, and well‑being. Responsibilities include direct support, community integration, documentation, and collaboration with supervisors and families.
Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Drug screening
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire)
- Negative TB test
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance (prior to employment)
- Genuine passion for caregiving and supporting individuals with disabilities
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals in homes and community settings
- Teach and reinforce independent living skills including personal hygiene, meal prep, and daily routines
- Assist with community activities such as shopping, appointments, and outings
- Monitor safety, document progress, and communicate with supervisors and families
- Attend trainings, maintain professionalism, and uphold a person-centered approach
