Job summary

Doherty in Marshall, MN is hiring a Disability Living Skills Coach to work 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. in the community, with travel across Southwest Minnesota.

You will help clients build independent living skills, such as budgeting, transportation and daily tasks, meet people in homes or community sites, and document services and time logs. Qualifications

• Experience in human services or disability services or related field
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage schedule and caseload
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and basic computer systems

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one and in small groups with individuals with disabilities
• Teach and support independent living skills (budgeting, transportation, job readiness, daily living tasks)
• Assist clients with real-life tasks (reviewing leases, studying for driver’s test, accessing community resources)
• Advocate for individuals while encouraging independence (not hands-on caregiving)
• Schedule and manage your own appointments and caseload
• Conduct meetings in homes or community locations (libraries, community centers, etc.)
• Travel within assigned counties in Southwest Minnesota
• Complete documentation, track services, and log time accurately
• Conduct outreach to local organizations to build referrals (schools, county services, veteran services, etc.)
