Job summary

The Fedcap Group, through Easterseals Rhode Island, seeks a Direct Support Professional to assist individuals with IDD in achieving ISP goals and community integration. You will support daily living, advocate for rights, and promote independence within flexible hours based on participant schedules.

Your responsibilities include implementing ISP/work plans, community connection, safety and confidentiality, crisis intervention, and collaboration with supervisors and coworkers to ensure

Qualifications

• CPR, First Aid, behavior management, medication administration, and driving training may be required.
• Must possess a safe, reliable, registered vehicle for transporting individuals.
• High school diploma required; related degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor ISP and employment plans, including training and job placement.
• Support community integration and access to resources.
• Teach socialization and activities of daily living.
• Administer and document medications as prescribed.
• Document progress notes and ISP documentation.
• Transport individuals to activities and job development events.
• Attend ISP meetings and supervision with a person-centered approach.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety training as needed.
