Job summary

AccessPoint RI is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Cranston, RI. The role focuses on person-centered care, promoting independence, and helping residents reach daily living goals with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, following ISPs, assisting with personal care, and engaging individuals in community activities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Access to an insured and inspected automobile on an ongoing basis.
• Ability to complete CPR, NCI, Human Rights, Management and other required trainings.
• Capable of effective oral and written communication.
• Capable of reading and comprehending policies and instruction, and use varying degrees of independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents are treated with respect and dignity.
• Follow ISPs and assist with daily living tasks.
• Document progress and communicate with the support team.
• Assist with personal care and daily needs when necessary.
• Encourage community involvement and independence.
