Job summary

Valley Teen Ranch is seeking dependable Youth Support Specialists to help young adults ages 18–24 transition from the Juvenile Justice Center into the community. This is a hands-on, relationship-based role where you will support daily living skills, employment, education, transportation, and communication, using trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to foster independence and stability.

Responsibilities

• Build supportive professional relationships with residents while maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Teach independent living skills: cooking, meal planning, budgeting, banking, time management, organization, and household responsibilities.
• Help residents establish routines that support employment, education, and housing stability.
• Assist with job searches, resumes, interviews, education, vocational training, and access to resources.
• Encourage positive relationships and healthy communication.
• Maintain a safe, clean living environment.
• Support through conflict using trauma-informed approaches.
• Help residents develop coping skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Complete daily logs, notes, and incident reports.
• Communicate progress and needs to Housing Manager.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings
