Hope Haven of East Texas, a faith-based nonprofit, seeks a Life Skills Coordinator to mentor and guide teens in a Supervised Independent Living (SIL) setting. You will develop transition training, oversee daily living skills, and support pathways to independent living for youths aged 14-20.

Role involves record-keeping, collaborating with staff, and participating in required training to ensure compliance with program standards. On-site work is expected as part of the Transitional Living team.

Qualifikationen

• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• A college major in social science, psychology, social work, or sociology is a plus.
• Experience with youth/young adults in foster care, homelessness, or mental/behavioral health challenges is a plus.
• Experience providing independent living services is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Develop and implement an age-appropriate Life Skills Transition training program for youth aged 14–20 in the Transitional Living program.
• Monitor and guide SIL and GOH participants on daily living requirements (nutrition, scheduling, transportation, housekeeping, financial management, employment, education, personal development, spiritual foundations).
• Maintain records as required by Texas DFPS contract for the SIL program.
• Collaborate with Hope Haven personnel to facilitate Transition to Adult Living services and Life Skills plans for residents aged 14–20.
• Track progress toward performance objectives for Transition to Adult Living.
• Support the House Manager to ensure meal plans and basic foods are stocked in the SIL.
• Monitor SIL residence compliance with Life Skills progress and report incidents.
