Job summary

Catholic Charities of New York is seeking a Residential Counselor to support residents in community residence and permanent housing programs. You will implement service plans, provide counseling, and coordinate with other services to help residents build independent living skills.

Responsibilities include case management, documentation, crisis intervention, and participation in meetings and program planning. Flexibility for shifts and emergency coverage is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience helping individuals with serious mental illness or similar population.

Responsibilities

• Provide case management services to assigned residents.
• Implement individual service plans toward rehabilitation goals.
• Assist residents with daily living skills and community life.
• Document services in residents' records and maintain documentation.
• Discuss residents' goals and evaluate services regularly.
• Provide ongoing counseling support as needed.
• Draft comprehensive service plans and facilitate resident involvement.
• Coordinate care with other services and track follow-ups.
• Attend required meetings and assist in planning recreational activities.
• Adhere to NYS OMH regulations and agency policies.
