Job summary

Underwriter Services Association seeks experienced Commercial Lines Loss Control Consultants to visit accounts for inspections and consultative visits. Independent 1099 contractors work with a flat rate per inspection or hourly, paid weekly upon completion of reports.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of loss control experience, strong communication and technology skills, and own equipment including a digital camera. A reliable car and flexible schedule are required for a wide territory.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting property and casualty loss control surveys and reports.
• Understanding of general liability and property lines of coverage.
• Knowledge of commercial auto, workers compensation, and inland marine coverages preferred.
• Ability to work quickly with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.
• Ability to assess the physical condition of a property.
• Prepare clear, concise reports.
• Basic computer, typing and internet skills; support may be provided.
• Own a computer with Windows OS and reliable transportation.
• Be self-motivated, detail oriented, and well organized with flexible schedule.
• Must have a digital camera and high-speed internet; knowledge of Microsoft products.
• Must have a reliable car to cover wide territory.

Responsibilities

• Set site inspection appointments with insureds/agents via email or phone.
• Conduct complete physical inspections of properties within an assigned territory.
• Take digital photos of properties and document hazards/controls.
• Perform on-site interviews regarding the property as required.
• Upload reports and photos through a cloud-based system.
• Complete online training courses as required.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.
