Job summary

Rite Air Mechanical, a Smart Care Company, seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service HVAC and refrigeration equipment at commercial sites in the Newark area. You will work in the field, independently managing service calls and communicating clearly with customers.

Responsibilities include servicing rooftop units, walk-ins, and refrigeration systems, reading wiring diagrams, and performing preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration service.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• EPA certification is required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Able to work independently and communicate clearly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment at customer sites.
• Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, walk-ins, reach-ins, and ice machines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, airflow, and refrigeration-system issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential problems before emergencies.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specs.
• Recover, evacuate, charge, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
• Identify failed components and determine repairs.
• Communicate clearly with customers about conditions and recommendations.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and inventory.
• Work independently while staying connected with dispatch and team.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
