Job summary

Rite Air Mechanical, a Smart Care company, seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to troubleshoot and service equipment at customer locations across the New Jersey territory. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain various rooftop units, walk-ins, and refrigeration systems, while communicating clearly with customers and completing all service documentation.

The ideal candidate has HVAC/R experience, strong diagnostic skills, and EPA certification, plus a valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial HVAC and/or refrigeration service.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
• Experience with commercial HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• EPA certification.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Comfortable using mobile technology to receive calls and document completed work.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, walk-ins, ice machines, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, airflow, and refrigeration-system issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and identify potential problems before they become emergencies.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Recover, evacuate, charge, and troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
• Identify failed components and determine the appropriate repair.
• Communicate with customers about equipment conditions, repairs, and recommendations.
• Complete service documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Work independently while staying connected with dispatch, management, and the rest of the service team.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service as needed.
