Job summary

Malama is expanding its doula provider network in Minnesota and seeking experienced birth doulas to support pregnant and postpartum Medicaid members. You will operate as an independent contractor, with Malama handling administrative tasks such as provider enrollment, credentialing, billing, and payment.

The role emphasizes non-clinical prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum support, cultural responsiveness, and coordination with the care team while maintaining privacy and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Experienced birth doula practicing in Minnesota.
• Approved for the Minnesota Doula Registry, or eligible and willing to complete registration.
• Willing to complete Minnesota Medicaid and health-plan enrollment and credentialing requirements.
• Experience providing prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum support.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical prenatal, labor/birth, and postpartum doula support.
• Provide culturally responsive emotional, informational, and physical support aligned with member preferences and needs.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services.
• Follow privacy, documentation, quality, and payer requirements.
• Coordinate with Malama’s care team when a member needs support outside the doula scope of practice.
