Job summary

Kindly Direct Care seeks an Independence Mentor in New Jersey to empower an adult with developmental disabilities toward greater independence. This part-time position emphasizes compassionate, person-centered support in daily activities and community outings.

The role requires working two weekday shifts 5:00-8:00 p.m. with occasional weekend hours, a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and the ability to complete onboarding and background checks. Driving during shifts is required.

Independence Mentor

Job Summary:

As an Independence Mentor with Kindly Direct Care, you will play a vital role in empowering an adult with developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and live with increased independence. Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one support to an adult with developmental disabilities in Toms River, New Jersey, focusing on community outings, everyday activities, and personal goals
• Encourage independence, social connection, and progress toward personal goals
• Support activities and routines according to the individual's needs and guidance
• Follow individualized instructions, prioritize safety, and complete required service documentation
• Stay in communication with the Kindly Direct Care team and keep the agreed schedule

Schedule and Location:

• Two weekday shifts per week, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
• A few additional hours on either Saturday or Sunday
• Toms River, NJ. Driving during shifts is required

Compensation:

• $17-$22 per hour

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
