Job summary

Foster Elementary School in San Diego is seeking a Paraeducator- Independence Facilitator to support students with medically and physically challenged needs. You will assist learning, reinforce classroom routines, and help manage behavior under supervision of teachers in MPC and general education settings.

The role involves in-person work five days a week for 10 months, with a 35-hour schedule, and eligibility for district health benefits for part-time/longer shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; CAPE or Associate’s degree or 48 eligible college units desirable.
• One year of experience working with severely, emotionally, physically challenged children in organized settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning.
• Provide academic support and behavior intervention.
• Assist teachers with instruction and classroom management in both special and general education settings.
• Support students in MPC settings and during lunchrooms, play, distance learning, and field trips.
