Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Tioga County Assistance Office is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, and related programs. You will interview applicants, review information, and apply state and federal regulations to support timely decisions.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week) with shift hours 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, potential telework part time, and a starting salary of $53,008 per year.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring the analysis and interpretation of data.
• A bachelor's degree.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements within 3 months of graduating.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate applications and determine eligibility for programs such as financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers
• Conduct phone and in-person interviews to gather information and understand customer circumstances
• Interpret and apply state and federal regulations to ensure accurate case decisions
• Enter information into automated systems and perform manual calculations for case processing
• Write clear and thorough case comments to record changes and document decisions
• Complete all assigned work within required timeframes and established procedures
