Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Washington State Special Education Endorsement and Elementary Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience with diverse learners in inclusive settings.
  • Strong collaboration with parents, colleagues, and support staff.
  • Knowledge of best practices in special education with differentiated instruction.
  • Ability to create and implement IEPs.
  • Classroom management skills and support for behavioral and academic growth.
  • Understanding of child development applied to instruction.
  • Strong communication with families and community.
  • Commitment to collaboration and ongoing professional growth.
  • Knowledge of technology integration in education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and differentiate instruction for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with general education staff to implement IEPs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to families and staff.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and a safe environment.
  • Engage with community to connect learning to place-based contexts.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development aligned with district goals.
