Job summary

San Diego State University’s Center for Inclusive Excellence invites a Student Engagement and Inclusive Programs Assistant to promote inclusive leadership, allyship, and belonging on campus. The role mentors student leaders, coordinates events, develops materials, and connects students with resources, contributing to a welcoming campus community.

The position supports equity initiatives, works with diverse student populations, and collaborates with campus partners to advance inclusive practices

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a job-related field.
• One year of experience in professional Student Services work is typically required; education may substitute for the experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the creation and delivery of inclusive leadership trainings, workshops, and student engagement programs.
• Facilitate routine presentations and learning activities that encourage reflection, dialogue, and leadership development.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, program guidance, and developmental support of Diversity Peer Educators and interns.
• Collaborate with campus diversity partners to foster cross-departmental collaborations.
• Create and update outreach materials including presentations, flyers, newsletters, and websites.
• Coordinate program logistics: schedules, attendance, materials, and internship requirements.
• Collect and summarize participation data to support reporting and improvement.
