Job summary

Billings Public Schools is seeking a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) to support students with special needs across various schools in Billings, MT. The role is a .813 FTE position, working Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per day during a 9-month school year, at a rate of $19.86/hour.

The district provides TRS retirement, Vacation and Sick Leave benefits. Required are pre-employment physicals paid for by the district and a High School diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Pre-employment physicals are required and paid for by the District.
• Must be able to lift and position students with physical difficulties.
• Experience working with children required.
• Must be able to work with children with special needs, challenging behaviors, and personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to teachers and students requiring special assistance
• Implements lesson plans, behavior plans, and responding to students' special needs
• Assists students with cognitive, sensory or physical limitations
• Assists students in using adaptive equipment and assistive devices
• Helps students to integrate into regular classroom settings
• Must be flexible and able to work with many different staff members
