Job summary

Billings Public Schools is seeking a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) on a temporary basis to support teachers and students with special needs. This 0.813 FTE role runs Monday through Friday during a 9-month school year, with responsibilities including implementing lesson and behavior plans and assisting students with cognitive, sensory, or physical limitations.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to lift and position students; pre-employment physicals are required

Qualifications

Must have previous experience working with children
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to lift and position students with physical difficulties

Responsibilities

Implements lesson plans, behavior plans, and responding to students' special needs
Must be able to work with children with special needs, challenging behaviors, and personal care needs
Assists students with cognitive, sensory or physical limitations
Assists students in using adaptive equipment and assistive devices
Must be able to lift and position students with physical difficulties
Helps students to integrate into regular classroom settings
Must be flexible and able to work with many different staff members
Must have previous experience working with children
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
