Job summary

Brown University is seeking an Accessibility and Learning Specialist to join the Office of Academic Support within the Warren Alpert Medical School. The specialist collaborates with clinical partners, promotes ADA compliance, and contributes to professional development within the Office of Academic Support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education, Rehabilitation Services or similar program plus 5-7 years of experience working with students with disabilities in a college setting
• Counseling coursework preferred
• Experience with reviewing and evaluating documentation to determine accommodations in higher education or employment settings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct student intake interviews and review medical, psychological, and neuropsychological information to determine eligibility for accommodations
• Identify appropriate accommodations based on disability and program requirements
• Provide referrals to neuropsychological testing and to other clinicians as indicated
• Promote student achievement through one-on-one learning consultations and group presentations
• Engage in professional development and other projects to support the Office of Academic Support.
