Job summary

Brown University seeks an Accessibility and Learning Specialist within the Office of Academic Support of the Warren Alpert Medical School. The Specialist conducts intake interviews, reviews medical, psychological, and neuropsychological information to determine accommodations and supports diverse students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years experience with students with disabilities in a college setting
• Counseling coursework preferred
• Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Formal training and education in disabilities services
• Experience with diverse student populations
• Knowledge of ADA and learning disabilities
• Experience reviewing documentation to determine accommodations

Responsibilities

• Conduct student intake interviews and review medical/psychological information to determine accommodations
• Identify appropriate accommodations based on disability and program requirements
• Support implementation of accommodations with the Medical School and clinical partners
• Provide referrals to neuropsychological testing and other clinicians as indicated
• Promote student achievement via one-on-one learning consultations and group presentations
• Engage in professional development and other related projects
