Job summary

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Inclusion Assistant to provide on-site support to participants with disabilities within general recreation programs, including summer camps. This role reports to the Inclusion Specialist and may require up to 40 hours per week, typically Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED; 18+ years old.
• Experience: 1 year in rec activities or with participants with disabilities.
• Equivalency notes: education/experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Provides on-site assistance to participants with disabilities in general recreation programs.
• Supervises assigned participants actively and responsibly.
• Coordinates with program director to adapt activities as needed.
• Maintains a safe environment and documents behaviour and accommodations.
• Promotes program via communications to parents and community.
