Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and other staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and show written evidence.
• Work with classroom teachers to modify curricula and assist special education students in regular classes.
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through testing.
• Manage student behavior and administer discipline according to IEP; intervene in crises.
• Consult with teachers and district resources regarding education, social, medical, and personal needs.
• Keep informed of and comply with regulations and policies for special education teachers.
• Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
• Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required.
