Job summary

CareNow is seeking a Medical Assistant PRN to support our urgent care teams. You will prepare patients for exams, take histories and vital signs, and maintain exam rooms with instruments and supplies.

You will administer injections, assist with lab tests and phlebotomy, and help physicians with splints and dressings. You will coordinate follow-ups and screenings, including workplace injuries, ensuring smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or Back Office Training Program is required.
• AAMA certification is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Set up exam rooms with instruments and maintain supplies/equipment.
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling follow-up care.
• Coordinate physicals and workplace injury follow-ups; screen referrals.
