Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient-centered care in our urgent care network. You will prepare patients, assist physicians, and help with injections and lab work, contributing to efficient visits and quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes strong clinical skills, experience with EHR systems, and the ability to coordinate follow-up care in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting preferred.
• Experience using an EHR system is helpful.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or completion of a Back Office Training Program (BOTP) is required.
• Certification from the AAMA is helpful.
• Ability to obtain Federal Breath Alcohol Screening and Federal Drug Screening Certifications within 30 days of start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking histories and vital signs.
• Set up exam and treatment rooms with instruments and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Administer injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians with splints, dressings, and bandages.
• Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care.
• Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts.
• Screen incoming calls for referrals to physicians.
