Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Inbound Operations Manager to lead inbound logistics at our Anchorage distribution center. You will partner with the General Manager to implement strategic plans for receiving, staging, and inventory integrity, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while driving efficiency.

The role emphasizes team leadership, training, cross-functional collaboration, and cost-conscious process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience within a distribution center or similar environment.
• 1+ year’s proven experience in a managerial role and/or leading teams.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics software (e.g., WMS, ERP systems).
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field.
• Lean six sigma and project management skills.
• Expertise in MS Office, Promapp, Power BI, Visio, etc.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager in implementing operational strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
• Manages inbound operations by setting strategic performance expectations and monitoring productivity.
• Leads inbound operations, including scheduling, unloading, receiving, stocking, and safety compliance.
• Ensures safe environment by enforcing safety rules and regulations.
• Trains and develops employees to maximize efficiency and fill gaps as needed.
• Manages supplier and customer inquiries, resolving escalations or directing them appropriately.
• Works cross-functionally with DC management to identify and resolve repetitive receiving errors.
• Protects assets by ensuring equipment use, receipt checks, and secure facilities.
• Maintains awareness of budget and cost-saving initiatives.
