Job summary

GPC in Virginia is seeking an Inbound Operations Supervisor to lead receiving and stocking activities, ensuring loads meet on-time schedules and paperwork is reconciled. You will drive efficient processes, mentor teams, and reinforce a culture of engagement and problem‑solving.

The role requires forklift and pallet jack certification, strong organizational skills, and a focus on safety and cost control within a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1+ years' experience in a distribution center or similar environment.
• Ability to comply with safety requirements for job functions and DC safety.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop cooperative relationships.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to use good judgment to follow detailed instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Capable of lifting/moving heavy items up to 60 lbs.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inbound operations, instruct staff, monitor progress and troubleshoot as needed.
• Design and maintain inbound freight organization, receiving dock, and stocking activities.
• Enforce safety rules and ensure a safe environment for employees and processes.
• Support budget awareness and cost-saving process improvements.
• Lead warehouse associates and encourage engagement and problem-solving.
• Investigate and resolve receiving errors with the team to prevent recurrence.
• Schedule team hours for peak periods and efficiency.
• Protect assets and ensure proper receipts during unloading and put-away.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Mentor team members and drive proactive decision-making.
• Oversee put-away of inbound freight and reconciliation of received loads.
