Job description

The Assistant Warehouse Manager (AWM) is a full-time exempt position that operates within the GOVX Fulfillment Center (GXFC) located in La Vergne, TN. This position is responsible for the ownership of assigned responsibilities within the GXFC facility such as overseeing team production, training initiatives and process improvements within warehouse operations. This role focuses on developing workforce skills, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring best practices in logistics, safety, and inventory management. The position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work days and hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 1-hour lunch.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of Reverse Logistics team, overseeing daily operations and processes.
  • Production-based management role with an estimated 40% of on duty time spent in production with the Reverse Logistics team.
  • Provide support to Inbound and Outbound Assistant Warehouse Managers with business operations.
  • Coordinate and supervise assigned warehouse staff.
  • Optimize warehouse processes for efficiency.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments for seamless operations and to promptly resolve inventory inquiries.
  • Maintain business reporting logs utilized for audit of returned inventory to resolve discrepancies weekly or as needed.
  • Support Inventory Control with bulk and open box operations.
  • Oversee the implementation and compliance of safety and security protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations, including OSHA requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain and replenish consumables needed by Reverse Logistics, including breakroom and cleaning supplies.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional environment subject to state and local health ordinances. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, pallet jacks, photocopiers, and U-boats.

  • Operate equipment with repetitive motions (i.e., typing, scanning, packaging, etc.).
  • Associate or bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of experience in a warehouse lead role managing hourly employees.
  • CSCP/CSCM preferred.
  • Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Thorough attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems. Experience with NetSuite WMS is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and maintain accuracy while multi-tasking.
  • Exhibits excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, team building leadership qualities, making informed decisions, and interpreting data.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and demeanor focused on diagnosing and resolving issues.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable delivering and receiving direct written and oral feedback.

Supervisory Experience
This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements
Minimal travel is expected for this position (less than 5%).

Pay Range

$62,400.00 - $65,000.00 annually, exempt
