Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a Design Consultant to greet customers, assess project needs, and present complete, budget‑friendly design solutions for residential and commercial spaces.

You’ll schedule appointments, build clientele, and advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories while collaborating with store leadership to drive sales. The role emphasizes strong communication, math skills, and proficiency with design software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience
• Degree in Design is a plus
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support design walk‑in needs
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking, referrals, and in-store leads
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions
• Manage multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales goals
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff
• Stay informed on current and emerging design trends in the market
• Understand and utilize design applications (Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject)
• Perform other duties as assigned
