Job summary

Target is seeking an Assets Protection - Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and the brand. The role requires strong observation, de-escalation, and incident documentation skills within a fast-paced retail environment.

You will be responsible for responding to incidents, supporting theft prevention, and maintaining security standards across the store. Flexible hours and physical demands are part of the routine.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Work both independently and with a team
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments
• Greet guests and assist with finding products or resolving issues for a smooth shopping experience
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide
• Respond to and document security incidents in a timely manner
• Leverage de-escalation tactics and resources during incidents across the store
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed
• Prevent theft and shortage by verifying receipts and communicating trends
• Document incidents in the case management system per AP policy and procedures
• Understand and use Target's video surveillance system effectively
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work safely and report hazards; follow safety policies and training
• All other duties based on business needs
