Job summary

Design Within Reach, Inc. is seeking a Design Specialist to blend design sensibility with consultative selling.

You’ll represent iconic designers and brands, build lasting relationships with clients and the local design community, and report to the General Manager to drive store success. You will drive sales through personalized consultations, guide space planning and product selection, and manage the client lifecycle using CRM tools.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail sales, design consulting or customer success preferred.
• Background in interior design, architecture or related field is preferred.
• Strong client needs assessment, problem-solving and relationship skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and design tools like SketchUp/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales by delivering personalized design consultations and solutions that meet client needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, trade professionals, and the local design community.
• Meet and exceed sales performance goals including revenue targets and client retention.
• Guide clients through product selection, space planning and styling with design expertise.
• Manage full client lifecycle using CRM tools and outreach strategies.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and contribute to store aesthetics.
• Stay current on product knowledge and design trends through training.
• Conduct in-home consultations and attend off-site meetings with trade clients as needed.
