Design Within Reach is seeking a Design Specialist to blend your design sensibility with consultative selling, delivering exceptional client experiences and representing iconic brands.

You will drive sales through personalized design consultations, build lasting relationships with clients and trade professionals, and guide space planning and product selection while maintaining store aesthetics and staying current on design trends.

Qualifications

• Design-savvy and passionate about interior design
• Retail sales, design consultation, or customer success experience preferred
• Background in interior design, architecture, or related field preferred
• Strong client needs assessment, problem-solving, and relationship-building
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and design tools (SketchUp/AutoCAD)
• Able to lift 20+ lbs and work in a fast-paced, team environment

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized design consultations and solutions that meet client needs
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, trade professionals, and the local design community
• Meet and exceed sales performance goals and KPIs including revenue, conversions, and client retention
• Guide clients through product selection, space planning, and styling
• Manage full client lifecycle using CRM tools and outreach strategies
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and contribute to store aesthetics
• Stay current on product knowledge, design trends, and industry developments
• Conduct in-home consultations and attend off-site meetings with trade clients as needed
