Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Behavior Intervention Specialist to support a school in Hartford County, CT for the 2026-2027 school year. Start date is ASAP; end date June 11, 2027. Location: Hartford County, CT. Onsite, 35 hours per week for the 2026-2027 school year.

The role requires PMT certification or equivalent, strong ability to implement behavioral supports, and collaboration with students, families, and school staff. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• PMT certification or equivalent is required.
• Ability to implement behavioral supports including de-escalation and crisis response strategies.
• Working knowledge of PBIS and MTSS in school settings.
• Strong communication, organization and collaboration with students, families and staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or Social Work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group behavioral and social-emotional support aligned to Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
• Help develop, implement, and track student support plans and adjust strategies based on progress.
• Participate in SST, 504, PPT, and attendance-related meetings as assigned.
• Use restorative approaches and alternative discipline strategies to address behavior concerns.
• Collaborate with families and school teams to reduce barriers to student success.
