Onward Education is seeking a full-time, in-person Special Education Teacher to support a school in Fairfield County, CT for the 2026–2027 school year. Start Date: ASAP; End Date: June 11, 2027; Location: Fairfield County, CT; Onsite, 37.5 hours per week.

The role requires a valid special education license and experience with students who have special needs diagnoses. The educator will deliver specialized instruction, use sensory accommodations and adaptive technologies, and support transitions

Qualifications

• Hold one of the required special education licenses (e.g., Comprehensive Special Education 1–12, PK–12, PreK–12) as listed.
• Demonstrated experience working with students who have special needs diagnoses.
• Ability to support highly specialized student needs within dedicated programs or classroom environments.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized instruction for students with identified disabilities and individualized learning needs.
• Deliver classroom strategies aligned to the needs of the student population served (including autism support and behavior-focused programming).
• Incorporate supports such as sensory accommodations and adaptive technologies in the classroom.
• Teach functional academics and daily living skills to promote student independence and post-school readiness.
• Support vocational and transition-oriented skill development for students preparing for adulthood.

Qualifications:

• Ability to teach and reinforce functional life skills and independence-focused learning objectives.
• Ability to support students in transition-focused programming as needs are identified for the caseload.
