Job summary

The Global Ambassador Hotel in Phoenix is seeking an experienced in-room dining server to deliver flawless food and beverage service in a luxury setting. You will set tables, take and deliver orders, and ensure timely checks and payments.

The role requires 2+ years in-room dining, excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to stand long hours. You will maintain cleanliness, follow safety procedures, and assist with inventories and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of in-room dining serving experience in a luxury hotel.
• Excellent communication skills and a polished, courteous demeanor.
• Professional, proactive service with attention to guest satisfaction.
• Able to read/write/speak the workplace language and work as a team.
• Strong personality, guest-focused, and able to input information accurately.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds, with neat grooming.

Responsibilities

• Set tables and trays according to food type and service standards.

What You'll Do

Set tables, trays according to type of food ordered and the TGA service standards.

Performs opening and closing procedures established for the department.

Accurate records, pre- checks and pick-up all food and beverage orders.

Check-in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.

Responsible for cleaning and removing the trolleys/trays from guest rooms and corridor.

Serves guests their food and beverage in a prompt, courteous manner as per the standard sequence of service.

Present physical and accurate check to guest and complete the payment process.

To be able to immediately monitor guest comments and pass them on to your manager and be pro- active in solving problems whenever possible.

To have a full knowledge of the food & beverage items & their specifications, menu prices, recipe and style of service etc.

To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items in the menu and the ability to recommend Food & Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives.

Check with the guest regarding the satisfaction of the meal.

Report guest complaints immediately to the supervisors and ensure follow up is performed with the guest.

Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.

Maintain cleanliness of work areas, chinaware, glassware, etc., throughout the day.

Report cleanliness and maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor.

Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

Ensure proper appearance and grooming while on duty.

Ensure you have minimum waste and breakage.

Ensure communication between Kitchen, Order taker and service team members.

Monitor operating supplies, equipment and reduce spoilage and wastage successfully.

Being knowledgeable to operate the hotels point of sales ( POS ) system, other order taking systems or handheld devices, Inventory software etc.

To ensure a very good relationship between the Operations floor, the FOH and BOH

Assist in carrying out scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment.

Perform any other assigned reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned or as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications

At least 2+ years of previous in room dining serving experience, luxury hotel preferred.

Should have excellent communication skills.

Be courteous, professional and provide efficient service.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Must have a great personality, desire to serve guests, and enjoy working as part of a team

Must have the ability to accurately input information on paper or computerized system

Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Must be able to safely lift up to 25 pounds

Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per TGA standards

Must follow safety procedures closely

Must be able to work on holidays and/or weekends
