Job summary

The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an In-Room Dining Assistant to deliver luxury in-room dining experiences. You will take guest orders, coordinate with the kitchen and service staff, and ensure accuracy and high service standards.

Full-time AM and PM shifts are available; weekend and holiday availability is required. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance after 60 days, floating holidays, sick pay, and vacation after 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• Clear English communication is required.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Hospitality or cashier experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming in-room dining calls professionally.
• Accurately take guest food and beverage orders and note special requests.
• Enter orders into the POS system and relay details to kitchen/service teams.
• Provide menu information including ingredients, prep methods, pricing, and recommendations.
• Ensure orders are prepared and delivered per service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of the in-room dining menu, specials, and promotions.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff for timely fulfillment.
• Present guest checks and process payments when required.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and other duties as assigned.

Description

In-Room Dining Assistant

Join our team as we provide a luxury dining experience for our guests in the comfort of their hotel rooms. As an In-Room Dining Assistant, you will be responsible for accurately taking guest food and beverage orders, communicating with the kitchen and service team, and ensuring a seamless in-room dining experience.

Full time AM and PM positions are currently available. Weekend and holiday availability are a must.

Full-time benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance after 60 days, as well as floating holidays and sick pay. Vacation (40 hours) available after 90 days of employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls for in-room dining orders in a professional and courteous manner.
• Accurately take guest food and beverage orders while accommodating special requests and dietary needs.
• Enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system and communicate details clearly to the kitchen and service team.
• Provide guests with menu information including ingredients, preparation methods, pricing, and recommendations.
• Ensure orders are prepared and delivered according to hotel service standards.
• Maintain knowledge of the in-room dining menu, specials, and promotions.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Present accurate guest checks and process payments when required.
• Perform department opening and closing procedures.
• Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly in English (read, speak, and write).
• Strong attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service preferred.
• Previous hospitality, restaurant, or cashier experience is a plus.
• Ability to work evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use a computer, phone system, and POS system for extended periods.
