Job summary

Based at Mandarin Oriental New York within the Food and Beverage Department, the Assistant In-Room Dining Manager is responsible for an efficient operation of the department and meets guests’ expectations for quality of the product and service while ensuring all standards and procedures are followed. Reports to the Senior In-Room Dining Manager.

You will lead Room Service staff, coordinate guest special arrangements, manage events, ensure timely delivery, and uphold safety and service standards

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift 25+ pounds; stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train Room Service staff, including assistants and attendants, to deliver quality service.
• Respond to guest inquiries, coordinate special arrangements, and enforce hotel policies.
• Oversee event orders, ensure timely delivery and proper setup/breakdown of events.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and menu accuracy; manage payroll and scheduling.
