Job summary

Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is seeking an In Room Dining Server to deliver a memorable guest experience. You will report to the Assistant Outlets Manager and maintain high food and beverage standards, creating a hospitable atmosphere for both internal and external guests.

You will handle IRD orders, ensure accuracy, and keep your area clean and organized while balancing shift deposits on the Micros POS system. This role requires energy, hospitality, and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Previous food and beverage experience is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Cash handling/transaction abilities.
• ServSafe training is an asset.
• Available to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stay calm and courteous under pressure.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive service attitude at all times and assist guests with questions.
• Deliver IRD orders/requests to the correct guests.
• Respond to guest orders in a timely fashion.
• Ensure the work area is clean and neat.
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report malfunctions.
• Know menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Follow procedures when ringing in guest orders and verify details.
• Complete side duties as assigned by supervisor before departing.
• Assist with organization and delivery of amenities.
• Operate the Micros POS system and balance shift deposits.
• Clear and clean area and supplies throughout and at shift end.
• Rotate dishes, cutlery and other dishware.
• Ensure mise-en-place is completed by each server.
• Collect dishware/service trays promptly.
