Job summary

The Department of Corrections in Nevada is seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor 2 in Indian Springs to deliver direct clinical services to adults in custody. You will conduct intakes, assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans, with oversight of therapeutic community activities.

Responsibilities include group and individual counseling, progress documentation, and coordination with treatment teams.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor by the Nevada Board of Examiners for Alcohol, Drug and Gambling Counselors.
• Ability to conduct intakes/assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Experience with NRAS/ASAM/DSM; knowledge of confidentiality standards.
• Strong written and oral communication for progress notes and reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform intakes and assessments for adults incarcerated.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor progress.
• Facilitate group and individual counseling and oversee therapeutic community activities.
• Maintain records and prepare discharge and progress summaries.
• Provide in-service training and ensure ethical standards.
