Job summary

Amity Foundation seeks compassionate individuals for a Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I in its ISUDTP within prison facilities. The role involves delivering rehabilitative programming to inmates and participating in the delivery of group and individual sessions.

You will develop and monitor treatment plans, maintain accurate records, and liaise with CDCR and institution staff to ensure program goals are met and documentation complies with contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience or certification in substance use disorder treatment per DHCS guidelines.
• Ability to maintain confidential participant records and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the ISUDTP program and contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
• Lead group and individual meetings utilizing motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Develop and implement treatment/action plans with participants.
• Review treatment progress and document outcomes.
• Prepare reports, records, and plans in line with Amity standards and contract obligations.
• Collaborate with CDCR and institution staff for program continuity.
