Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks a compassionate Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I to support the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDT) in a state prison setting. The role is full-time, non-exempt, on-site, with opportunities to enhance clinical practice.

As a Counselor I, you will deliver rehabilitative programming, document progress, and collaborate with prison staff to support inmates’ treatment goals while adhering to program requirements and

Qualifications

• Knowledge of causes, symptoms and effects of substance abuse.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate evidence-based CBI classes for participants.
• Conduct individual sessions and develop release prevention/action plans.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants in ARMS and other systems.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS staff and facility personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
