Job summary

Amity Foundation is hiring a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) at our in-prison facilities. The role focuses on facilitating CBI classes, conducting individual sessions, and documenting progress to support inmate rehabilitation.

You will work with CDCR/CDCHS staff, ensure quality delivery of services, and maintain participant confidentiality while promoting behavioral change and accountability.

Qualifications

• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contract requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures in treatment settings.
• Safeguard participant health, safety, welfare, and confidentiality of records.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release plans.
• Evaluate and document participant progress.
• Document delivery of CBI services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce norms.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDPH staff and contractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
