Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking compassionate individuals to join our in-prison programs as a Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I. You will deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) and collaborate with CDCR and institution staff.

The Counselor I position requires meeting one of the specified experience/certification options, and includes responsibilities such as conducting group and individual sessions,

Qualifications

Counselor I must meet one of the following requirements: Less than one year of experience providing SUDT services as a certified AOD Counselor; OR Registered with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS, enrolled in AOD education classes, and six months of experience providing CBI services.

Responsibilities

Deliver treatment programming services to participants and conduct group and/or individual sessions.
Implement scheduled program curriculum as required by contract; lead and participate in face-to-face group and individual meetings using motivational interviewing, CBT and other therapeutic processes.
Engage participants daily; reinforce group rules and participation expectations.
Develop and implement treatment/action plans with participants and educate about supportive networks.
