Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate tax returns for clients with complex situations and to build lasting client relationships. This in-person role focuses on delivering consultative, client-centered service while leveraging training and technology provided by the firm.

You will conduct thorough client interviews, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide guidance on tax implications for individuals and businesses, with ongoing education to stay

Qualifications

• Completion of the HR Block Tax Knowledge Assessment is required.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation or related fields.
• Experience with complex individual and business returns.
• Experience in client-facing advisory roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication with ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
• Must meet IRS/state requirements and complete continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete tax returns for diverse situations, including business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to assess financial and tax implications.
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance and audit guidance.
• Collaborate with team to maintain a positive, client-focused office.
