Job summary

Teacher Tutors, LLC. is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Tutor to support students in grades 6–8, from pre-algebra to Algebra 1. Sessions are in students' homes or at their Livingston, NJ office, in-person and within a driver’s radius you set.

You’ll deliver one-on-one instruction, plan lessons, track progress, and communicate with families, bringing warmth and patience to every session. A math-focused degree and teaching credentials are preferred; W-2 payroll is common.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in math or related field or equivalent
• Strong communication and patient teaching abilities required
• Experience tutoring or teaching middle/high school math is preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s course and learning goals
• Plan lessons and prepare problem sets, drills, and aligned practice
• Build fluency in middle school math and Algebra 1 concepts
• Maintain warmth and positive energy to engage students
• Track progress and adjust pacing and materials as needed
• Submit a session note after each tutoring session and flag concerns to the Director
• Communicate clearly with parents and caregivers
• Share effective practices with the team to raise overall standards
• Maintain reliable transportation for in-home sessions
