Teacher Tutors is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Tutor to support students in grades 6–8 in person in Livingston, NJ or at students' homes. The role offers flexible scheduling and a friendly learning environment.

You’ll teach pre-algebra and Algebra 1 foundations, tailor lessons, track progress, and build confidence in math. Compensation ranges from $40–$50 per hour, with both W-2 and 1099 options depending on preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with strong math coursework or a math-related field.
• Tutoring, TA, or classroom teaching experience with school students.
• Warm, upbeat presence that puts students at ease and keeps them engaged.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's course and goals.
• Plan lessons and prepare materials aligned to class content.
• Build fluency in middle school math and algebra concepts across representations.
• Track progress and adjust pacing and materials per student needs.
• Communicate clearly and warmly with parents and document session notes.
