Job summary

Teacher Tutors is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Tutor to support students in grades 6–8 in math, from middle school math through pre-algebra and Algebra 1. Sessions occur in students' homes or at our Livingston, NJ office, and the role is in-person with flexible scheduling.

You will help students build math fluency, track progress, and communicate with families, while maintaining a warm, encouraging approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in math or related field is required or preferred.
• Experience with middle school math through Algebra 1 is expected.
• Teaching certification or credentials are a plus.
• Comfort with educational technology and in-home sessions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student's course and goals.
• Plan lessons and prepare materials aligned to class content.
• Build fluency in middle school math and Algebra 1 concepts.
• Bring warmth and engage students to build confidence in math.
• Track progress and adjust pacing and materials as needed.
• Submit a brief session note after each tutoring session.
