Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking applicants to join a pool of adjunct faculty for upcoming semester course sections within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. This pool will be used on an as-needed basis, with applications active until June 2027.

In-person teaching in Richmond, Virginia is required for introductory 100-200 level courses. Responsibilities include following course guidelines, attending meetings, grading, and timely responses to student inquiries.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field with experience and specialized expertise in mathematics.
• Applicants must have demonstrated teaching experience.
• PhD or other doctoral degree in a related discipline or directly related to the position is highly preferred.
• Previous experience teaching courses within the Department.

Responsibilities

• Follow all designated course instruction guidelines.
• Attend course coordination and department meetings as your schedule permits.
• Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided.
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
• Submit final grades according to College and Department policies.
