Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics to teach introductory level 100–200 courses in person in Richmond, VA. The application remains active until June 2027 with resubmission for subsequent years.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in a related field with teaching experience; a PhD is highly preferred. Salary is paid at $1,487 per credit hour.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field with experience and specialized expertise in mathematics is required.
• Applicants must have demonstrated teaching experience.
• PhD or other doctoral degree in a related discipline is highly preferred.
• Previous experience teaching courses within the Department.

Responsibilities

• Follow all designated course instruction guidelines.
• Attend course coordination and department meetings as your schedule permits.
• Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided.
• Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
• Submit final grades according to College and Department policies.
