Job summary

Florida Virtual School is seeking an Instructor for the Florida Scholars Academy in Graceville, FL (On-Site). The role focuses on remediation, acceleration, and growth of at-risk students in collaboration with DJJ facilities across the state.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and Florida teaching certification, with preferred ESE, Gifted, ESOL, and Reading endorsements. The role includes blended learning elements and reports to the Florida Scholars Academy leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
• Valid Florida Professional Teaching Certificate in content area assigned OR proof of active enrollment in a state-approved EPI or MAT program AND either a valid Florida state-issued Statement of Eligibility OR valid Temporary Certificate in content area assigned
• Exceptional Student Educational (ESE) Certification, preferred
• Gifted Endorsement, preferred
• English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Endorsement, preferred
• Reading Endorsement, preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement engaging instructional activities in assigned subject(s).
• Identify, select, create, and modify instructional resources to meet diverse learner needs.
• Supervise students and maintain accurate attendance records.
• Maintain order and discipline in the classroom.
• Provide a positive learning environment and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with supervisor and peers to improve instructional practices.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and stakeholders within timelines.
• Demonstrate professional and ethical standards in interactions.
